Off I go!

Dictionary.com has two listings for the word 'adventure'. "An exciting or very unusual experience." and "a bold, usually risky undertaking; hazardous action of uncertain outcome." I still haven't decided which one fits what I'm about to do most accurately, but I'm pretty confident that either way it's got my bases covered.

The time is now 3:31 PM, May 31st. With any luck, when the clock strikes 8 I'll be in the air, headed for what I think I can safely call an adventure under any definition of the word. I'm headed first for Bilbao, Spain. After that comes Segovia, and then Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Brussels, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Munich, and Prague. That's as far as I've gotten. From there I know I'm going to vagabond around Eastern Europe, and end up in Istanbul. The thing I know for sure is that on August 4th there's a ticket from London to New York with my name on it. Everything in between is still up to providence.

Pictures will pop up as they're taken, and I have no doubt the stories will follow. Leave me a note and help me not feel as overwhelmingly alone as I do this moment.

Here goes.

Isn't today May 28, not May 31? But have a safe flight nonetheless!

I'm sure you'll have a magnificent time.

San Lorenzo Del El Escorial northwest of Madrid is a great place to visit, and very interesting. I'm sure you'll have an absolute BALL!!
